A serious traumatic injury can lead to injuries that are not always visible to you or your loved ones. A severe injury that affects the brain can lead to changes in personality and behavior, these changes are known as “neurobehavioral disorders” and can significantly slow the recovery process. Sierra Care creates detailed plans to address the neurobehavioral changes that are seen with brain injury. Allowing healing and recovery to begin, speeding you and your loved ones return to a normal life.
At Sierra Care we understand the devastating effect that a sudden and unexpected change in personality and behavior can have, especially while you or a loved one is already recovering from a serious injury. These changes affect families, friendships, and even the ability to return to work. However, with skilled treatment almost all of these changes improve and in some cases resolve completely.
At Sierra Care we combine the treatment of behavioral changes into our treatment of any physical disabilities from the injury itself. This approach improves the speed of recovery and decreases the frustration that patients feel when only one element of their injury is addressed.
Treatment as Sierra Care begins with a detailed review of what medications, therapies, treatments a patient has received. This allows us to determine what is most likely to benefit you or your loved one. All neurobehavioral treatments at Sierra Care are provided alongside treatments for any physical injuries that are present. This dual approach is the foundation of our treatment strategy, ensuring that our patient’s have the greatest possible recovery in the shortest amount of time.
